    Need a recording device.

I'm looking to get a recording device for an upcoming gig. Is there such a device I can get that just plugs into the mixer that doesn't require me to hook up to a computer ?

Do you have an output but that will be running into the recording device or do you want something with a microphone built in? What your looking for is probably on this page http://www.pssl.com/Field-Recorders

Yea, that's exactly what I was looking for. Didn't know they'd be that expensive though I might consider a used device.

Yea a decent field recorder is on the expensive side. Computer based recording is much cheaper, you probably could buy a cheap laptop, http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...420&CatId=4936 and a usb interface, http://www.amazon.com/Tascam-US-100-...udio+interface for the same price as a decent field recorder.

I've got one, and it's really easy - plug in, set the levels and record straight from the mixer.
