    Giving Them Away...

I'm giving away 100 copies of my new mixed CD "Caution: May Contain Pop" this Friday night at my residency. Now this is a small club and we usually do about 75-100 people so there is enough for just about everyone. My question is what is the best way to give them out.

    A. I could give them to people as they come through the door but they may get lost through out the night

    B. I could give them out at one point and make it a big to do, but then not everybody may not get one.

    C. I could give them out as people are leaving and going right to the car...but then it might be viewed as an after thought.

So how and when should I give out this CD?

maybe put a sign by the booth saying grab my mix on CD for free and maybe have a stack at the door. you personally handing them out might feel a little like door-to-door salesman-ish and you cant do it throughout the night anyway.
Oh whats that you say? You wanna out check my soundcloud?

Should clarify...I would not be the person physically handing them out...I'm the only DJ so I am busy all night. The person at the door would be giving them out or other people that are working the event...

I think that if you gave it to them as they were leaving it might work best. then they can listen to it on the way home if they want. I did that once. but I was in Atlanta just for one night so I don't know how it all worked out.

I probably wouldn't hand them out at all. I'd put them somewhere where people can take one if they want one. When you hand things out, people tend to take them regardless of whether they want them or not.

In my expirience in a crowded club this isn't the best idea. As the location of the discs tend to be crowded and some might never find them. But if you have the doorman hand them out while people are coming in then your surely too broaden your fan base or if you suck they become hand mirrors and coasters lol.People love free stuff, but your method would give a more accurate projection of those who actually are supporters.

If it were me, I would rather receive the CD as I am leaving the club.
