Who has DJ'd at a clothing store before?

I work in downtown chicago right along michigan ave and there are some clothing stores ive walked through that have live DJs.

How does one get a gig like this? should I just walk in and ask to speak to the manager and hand em a demo?
Or do you have to have friends who work there and get the gig for you?

Anyone have any experience with this?

My lunch break is coming soon and I'm tempted to do a direct cold approach and see how that goes.

I get bookings at stores in a number of ways....one directly through the marketing manager who plans special events. Another is by working with local PR companies who are the ones that usually put on brand level events....like the rollout of a new line of Boss menswear or some new ladies make up line.

Cant hurt to ask.
