Hello DJ Forums.com'ers!!!! I admit to it, I'm a DJ. . .and I LOVE it!

Hello all, I have always been infatuated about the ART of DJ'ing. Every since I was a 10 year old kid, lining up to portable radio's blending radio songs with 2 portable radios trying to mimick the sounds of radio DJ's fading songs back to back. Some of my favorite radio guys of the past growing up in the inner city of Detroit Michigan (Motown) was the Electrifying MOJO 107.5 WGPR, Marvalous Marv the Mid-day DJ 107.5 WGPR, Kyle Lammont, 102.7 WLBS, Mason in the Morning 98 WJLB, and Rose Taylor (The Rose), 105.9 WJZZ! Also, my Father had some of the best equipment on our block, Kenwood, JVC, Technics, etc. I remember watching him make tapes of the many LP's he had collected. Growing up listening to Donna Summers, Raydio, Parliment Funkedelic, Bootsy, James Brown, Commodores, Teddy Pendergrass, Al Green, The Spinners, The Jazz Crusaders, and the list goes on, rocketed me into a voyage of musical lust, and an addiction to want to play music for others to enjoy. I remember carrying a gigantic JVC boombox around with me that my older brother gave me after he returned home from the military. I would serenade the entire block, and playground and would enjoy watching people jam to my groove. Thus to say, I have always been excited about playing music for others.

I remember my first real live DJ gig at a corner house smack dead in the middle of my neighborhood. I had 2 15 inch cerwin vega home speakers, a Panasonic Tape Player, and 1 of my Fathers Technic belt drive turntables. I remember kicking it off with a Track by the FATBACK BAN called 'I Like the Girls'. All of the 45 people cramped in my buddies basement jumped off the couches to do a dance called the 'Earl Flynn' (technically spelled Errol Flynn), and popular gang dance of a gang called the Errol Flynns!). Needless to say, that memory left a taste in my mouth that this was something I was born to do, and that is make people happy buy playing and providing music. Sense then, I've worked in serveral bars, and night clubs and events. I played music for people 20 years of my life, and now I am currently in my early 40's. I took a 10 year absents from djing to so-called get my life 'together'. I worked the 9 to 5 office gig, as well as being in management for some years. I have to tell you, most of those years were very depressing, going to work punching the clock or telling others what to do after someone told me what to do. THAT WAS JUST NOT FOR ME!

So for the past 2 years I've been saving every penny trying to buy the best equipment a MOBILE DJ can have. This is what brought me to this site. Reading the comments and opinions of all the current DJ's, and sound professionals, and the like to make sure I'm making a solid choice on DJ gear. I never had to buy my own equipment due to the fact that I was provided the Organization, bar or clubs gear. Now I picking up where I left off and trying to choose the right gear for me. This is what I want to do, DJ! Lastly, I'm looking to enter back into the wonderful world of DJing by providing my services to community events, social events, and other cerimonial events that require the service of music. I have an extensive library of music, from Techno, House, Jazz to R&B, and Hip-Hop. All of my music was purchased in some form or another, I DONOT believe in STEALING an ARTIST music! So this is where I am at, feel free to offer any suggestion or comments on what you have read above.

Thank you all for sharing your comments and opinions for me to read
