    Getting Gigs help

I have improved a ton, and im definately ready for real gigs. i've played a few parties in the past, but im ready to get into real events. idgaf how small they are, i just want to rock a crowd. im in dallas, and im 17, which could be a problem but i've seen plenty of videos of kids way younger than me "DJing" events. how do i go about finding gigs? big plus if someone from dallas could take me under their wing and help me out a bit. i do progressive house and occasionally hard dance. Also, i'm definately ready to get a crowd going, during all my practice mixes at home i talk to the imaginary crowd and get em super pumped up.
Edit: by Progressive House i mean real progressive house. not the stuff that sounds like electro thats on the beatport prog. house charts.

Do you have any promo mixes out, soundcloud, facebook page. I got my first gig my befriending people who run their own club nights. It helps when you know your scene but you being 17 might make this a bit more difficult.

You get gigs by putting your content out for the public eye, do a monthly podcast, if you're consistently putting out solid mixes... you will get noticed.

i mean, i guess, but i dont want to put out a mix a week to get 56 views on average and hope that some club promoter in my area is browsing youtube and searches the correct tags or somehow accidentally finds my video and then watched the whole thing and decides im good enough DJ to play at his club which has a night coming up soon for a new DJ to play at and allows minors to play.... i think i have a better chance of getting struck by lighting twice in the same day in the same spot.... what are some ways i can proactively find gigs?

Try using one of those mix tapes and burning it to a CD with some cover art and SOMEHOW getting that to a promoter or club owner.... I didn't think that I would have to spoon feed that part to you though.

Or adding the guy on facebook, and sending him a link..

maybe you could buy a tape recorder and play your mix off your computer speakers while recording it to give it a true rustic feel.

Or when you mix it just turn it really loud and maybe somebody will hear it..
    or
    maybe
    just
    blow
    the
    guy.????

I gave you my advice, and so far have been the only person to do so. Can't you be a little creative and add to the couple parts I left out instead of saying shit like this "i mean, i guess, but i dont want to put out a mix a week to get 56 views on average and hope that some club promoter in my area is browsing youtube and searches the correct tags or somehow accidentally finds my video and then watched the whole thing and decides im good enough DJ to play at his club which has a night coming up soon for a new DJ to play at and allows minors to play.... i think i have a better chance of getting struck by lighting twice in the same day in the same spot."

Makes you look like an EPIC douche... quite possibly more of a douche than I for calling you a douche, for being a douche.

i didn't say it was too much, i said it was highly unlikely for me to get a gig from someone stumbling onto my youtube video.
