But generally if your wanting to dj, just listen to music, figure out what sounds/genres you enjoy and would think you would enjoying mixing and start browsing that genre on soundcloud and mixcloud and all the other music outlets on the internets and find music that way rather than relying on a list generated by sales and what other people think you should be playing, just my opinion though....

You can also find chart lists from big name DJs, on beatport.

Look for your favorite dj or someone who plays the music you like and search for their list.

to add to this once you find a genre or sound you like and want more of in your library look for some music blogs, if you can find you that posts just your genre or has a filter section where you can filter the posts to only show what your interested most of the drugging through crappy songs is done for you, you still have to put in a little work, but its considerably less, even though i have a pretty good collection i still end up spending about 6-10hrs a week digging and managing my music library, its very important but very tedious

    Go here: http://www.billboard.com/#/
Just search the genre you want.

For example: here's the dance charts, http://www.billboard.com/charts/danc...lub-play-songs

You can also look at youtube too. Just type in "best house of 2011" "best house of 2010" etc etc! Then grab the names of all individual songs. Search them. And pay attention to how many views and likes that song has. But of course look for the type you like though!

Yeah.. I KNOW. All you criticized me for how I do it. And even say to, a real DJ does NOT depend on youtube to find music Well, it WORKS FOR ME! And I been doing this for years. That's how I find info on a vast number of songs of my kind. Not only that, its nice try the song before I buy too.

Honestly I like your method.. It makes sense. If the views are a big hit then the song must be a song to have. Thanks. Ill give that a try.
