    DJ Mag "Top 100"

To me this list looks more like it is based on how much of a good producer you are then a DJ and its mainly dance DJs, if not all

Personally i like David Guetta but after seeing he fakes some of his gigs, i lost respect towards him...and some of these DJs mixes sounds to clean, either they that good or they that good at faking it

Well it is an open vote for everyone. A lot of people vote, and the DJs who advertise and promote themselves through Facebook and other social media sites and basically places where they can attract a lot of voters, get the top spots in the Top 100. It's all about the PR in today's world of dance music. Of course, there are some underground dance acts and overall not so well known DJs in the Top 100, but with David Guetta and the other big names in the dance music scene, like Tiesto, Avicii, Armin Van Buuren and the now broken up Swedish House Mafia as their competitors, it is very difficult or even impossible to land a spot in the top 10 of the list.

And no, I am not saying that David Guetta or the other big acts don't have talent, of course they do. But the DJs with good PR and large fan base are the ones to land the top spots. That is just how it goes. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, so you can compile your own Top 100 if you want, but the masses of teenagers who use Facebook will help for example David Guetta to win again.

And then there's this of course: http://mixmag.net/words/news/are-top...-facebook-fans but I'll leave the judging to those who want to do it.

we should make a pinned list of looked-down-on/redundant threads that include asking for dj names, deadmau5, sync/digital, DJ popularity lists...

@djshire personally i like his music, started listening to his tracks a few years back and from there i started loving dance music and house.

If your opinion differs about him being a good producer, well then that's your opinion.
