    OS X Mountain Lion Upgrade

    Hola fellow DJs,

I was wondering if anyone out there has made the Mac OS X Mountain Lion upgrade yet and if it interferes with either SSL or Ableton 8 for any odd reason. New product launches tend to bring out bugs that nobody knew existed, and I want to make sure that the upgrade won't be a problem before I go gigging this weekend. Regards.

never upgrade an OS until you find our from Rane that it is compatible with the new OS. Lots of folks have to have the lates and greatest, but it can bit you in the ass if you do!

Unfortunately, usually new OS do. I would wait until Serato or Ableton send an e-mail or some other sort of release announcing that they are compatible.

Serato and Ableton work fine, as does VDJ.

Parallels didn't, but they released an upgrade a month prior to fix it.

If you are a professional dj, never be the gini-pig. Wait till its well tested and bug free..... There is no rush to upgrade to the newest version of anything. Upgrading before a gig is just craziness.....lol

BTW....im still using leopard and snow leopard on my macs running Itch, ssl and video sl...

CDJ 2000's not recognized... mountain lion issue or simply set up issue?

I recently made the mistake of jumping the gun and upgrading my software. Sadly the main issue I had was not properly being backed up and had some issues with my hard drive causing me to start 100% fresh (had to re-download all software etc.). I had a gig last night and when I linked my cdj's and mixer together only the mixer would show not my cdj's (cdj 2000's). I took care of the fire wall and network settings yet still have no luck. I even attempted to link a cdj directly to my mac to see if it was possible an issue with the connections but still no luck. Any one else having these issues or know how to possibly solve such problem? I'd appreciate the help. Minus that, I have had no issues with and of my software since updating.

Upgraded to ML on my late 09 MBP. Was hyped up for air mirroring to only realize after that it wasn't supported on my generation of MBP, then went and bought Air Parrot.
Used SSL 2.3 with ML without any issues and dove into 2.4 on Sunday and have been spinning for the past 3 days without any issues. Serato hasn't given the official verdict on compatibility but for now I hvan't run into any issues. Just kinda weirded out by SSL 2.4, new icon, new look, folders closed, videos scanned, but all in all its running fine for me. Oh and I'm only using an SL1 along with my MBP being a C2D I don't see any problems in the future. Have a gig on Saturday with my buddy hopefully I shit wont hit the fan..... lol :/

Waited a week before the upgrade, everything seems to work just fine.
