    well I'm going to spend as little as possible until I actually learn how to mix. Why spend a lot only to find out you never even get good at it. Real djs pay for their gear and music lol most "real" djs I know get tons of promos.

    sorry I think that came off rude. I'm just trying to say that it's not the end of the world to get something for free. It happens a lot for various reasons. Of course with promos people want their music to be heard in clubs so that other ppl will buy it. So a lot of djs I know get a lot of promos in addition to actually paying for some music as well. And I just kind of thought the "real dj" comment was funny because it's actually the opposite. If you're the one playing out at all the clubs people are going to be more likely to give you stuff for free lol.

    So there are. And depending on the style you play that may be enough to build sets on.
