    So what do you think?

Any thoughts on this? I love the complexity in the beat, you kind of have to find your own "rhythm". What I mean is that it's not an open-card song. It doesn't give away its true beauty at one listen. You really have to dig your way through the tune. Also, the way the tune builds up is just too sick. Around 1:50 it suddenly gets a whole new different spin, which I like too

So anyway, I'm curious about what other people think...share your thoughts.

    Welcome to DJF, Flacito!

Personally I'm not much of a fan of this tune. It kind of seems "complex for the sake of being complex". Production quality is high, though. Also, you may want to try and keep these posts in the "Track of the day" thread.

Alright, next time I'll be sure to put it in the Track of the day thread. Sorry!

Why? It's dead enough in this section as it is.

I thought it was pretty wacky. I couldnt listen to it for my own enjoyment, but I do appreciate the time and effort that went into the production.

Interesting tune, but I wouldn't buy it. Definitely appreciate the production, but similar to what Dantron said, theres so much focus on the technicalities of the beat that it seems disjointed. Needs more funk.

He's got a 12" out, seems pretty good to me Billain - Total Darkness I wouldn't call it mega innovative, check out the track below from 95 for some real envelope pushing music for example, but it sounds fresh to me. If you're not embracing innovation, you're just standing still, it just becomes paint by numbers genre music that stagnates and dies out, just look what happened to breaks and trance for example, or the depths that dubstep has plumbed Drum and Bass was on the cutting edge of electronic music for quite a long time, you couldn't really say that about it nowadays could you?

YES! I know this mix. I really, really wish I was there, every time I hear this mix I'm so jealous of the people screaming in the background. I mush have listened 10 times to this track now. But somethings odd here, does someone what's going on at 38:52, he drops another track, but then blandly drops back the previous track? What's going on here.

Love the cross snare-mixing at 22:00 or something.

But talking about Billains Rise Audio mix, does anybody know the track ID at 15:50, 21:20, 22:50 and 43:00? Greatly appreciated, been trying to find these for months now.

You're absolutely right, he's pushing that envelope control filter to the max, which is really good. It not only gives more inspiration and insight to yourself, but most importantly, to other producers as well. The more people think and the more getting inspired, the more innovation you get. Good example would also be Ed Rush and Optical in the 90's, of course.
