The muppet show
The Great Muppet Caper Soundtrack LP
this was given to me at the ripe old age of 2
it made somewhat of a comeback when i realised about 16 years later that it was awesome for scratching!!!
highly recommended !
i still have this record and still use it !
the next record i remember getting was about 10 years later, it was the 'prodigy - charlie says' on 7"
i also got 'TC1991 berry' with that. these tunes (though still very recent) were actually hand-me-downs from my brother.
i made a stupid mistake and sold all my 20 or so oldskool records only to realise that vinyl collecting was going to become a more serious hobby for me when i reached 16 years old.
the first record i baught that time was "baby doc - Fever" and within 2 years that turned into about 600 records.
fast forwars 31 years from the muppet show record, and the most recent record i baught (last week) was an old salsa record from the 1980s, i try to concentrate on rare gems which are not available digitally. still get a great buzz from getting my hands on these![]()

My first record was "Only You" by the Platters. My first LP was "The Chipmunks" on the Liberty red vinyl. My first CD was "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" by the Beatles. I also had a lot of 78's back in the old days like "Walkin' After Midnight" by Patsy Cline. And... this is my first post. Been playing records for people since 1958. Still love it.

My dad and brothers were DJs so they collected a ton of music. Growing up in the Miami hood, we had our own sound called Miami Bass or Booty music. I remember there was one particular shop in a flea market that I used to go to all the time to buy a lot of my records from. Anyways I remember the first two records I bought they were:
and
I remember, I mixed in between the versus of "Dance All Night" the intro of "Eark & Jerk". I was so excited, I called my cousins and did the mix for them over the telephone.
I am truly embarrassed to admit that the first record purchased for me was Kiss' "Love Gun" album:
I asked my parents to purchase the album solely on the basis of its cover. I only remember this because I was sorely disappointed when I actually listened to the album.
Unfortunately, I can not recall the first record I purchased for myself. It was more than likely a P-Funk album.
