The first record that was bought for you? / The first record you bought for yourself?

As far as I can remember, this is the first record that was bought for me, back in 1975: -

I don't still have it, but I'm not missing much: -

    Fucking LOL.

This was the first record I actually bought for myself, in 1979: -

A somewhat cooler tune than the Pinky & Perky stuff: -

I remember me and a guy called Paul Cowen (who I just spoke to the other day on Facebook actually) giving my parents the money to go and buy two 7" copies of that track from town, then when we got out of school they gave them to us. We felt like kings. We probably looked like cocks. In fact, I have a pic of us at that age and we definitely looked like cocks.

1st record I ever bought; remember it being only .25 or 50 cents (yep, still got it too).

Before this, records were bought by my sis or mom.

I don't remember, but the first album I remember hearing was The Beatles' Rubber Soul. That copy was owned by a high school girl living under the same roof at the time, but my mom also had a copy I kind of took over as my own..still own it today. The first album I remember buying on my own was a compilation album called Heavy Metal that included such hits as Smoke On the Water, Radar Love, Ride Captain Ride, Bang a Gong (Get it On) and Dyer Maker. It was a double album and I also still own it. Until I was 18 my record collection was very minimal but included a single of Inna Gadda Da Vida by Iron Butterfly. I have no idea where it came from but I loved it. I also won a copy of Linda Rondstadt's Simple Dreams in high school for paying for my yearbook early.

First album that was given to me was Black Sabbath Master of Reality. It was a gift from a friend of my sister. I was 11. The first I bought was an 8 track, In a gadda da vida. I was 13. My brother had that album when I was a lot younger

Can't even remember for sure, I already had crates as a toddler and my whole family would give me loads of records. Pushing my memory as far back as I can and it goes a little like this:

As in Peter and the wolf. Bought when I was about 2 and a half, I still have that record somewhere.
