Can't you use windows in your Mac? If you would, then I recommend Sony Vegas Pro. Another way is play the DVD in your Mac then open and use Audacity (Mac & PC) or Wavelab (Mac & PC) to record the audio.![]()

I use final cut proX.
you could also try audacity its free but fcpx is $300
i've tried it with audacity before, but figured it couldn't be done. I'll try it again now i know it's possible.
Thanks
Using VLC Media player is a free way to rip an audio stream from a DVD.
Are you talking about ripping the music from a DVD concert or movie soundtrack, or are you talking about ripping a song off of a DVD Audio disc. A DVD Audio disk is different from a DVD concert or Movie. A DVD Audio Disk is more like a Super Audio CD in quality, but it plays in a DVD player. There usually isn't any video, just high quality 5.1 audio with some still pictures playing in a slide show. I have a few of those disk.
i'm trying to play a movie, and just record the sound of it and have the file as an mp3 or wav. I have downloaded all manner of programs and have managed a couple of times to record the audio or so i thought. It actually turned out i was recording the audio through my mic.
I'm after audio to say layer over a track or scratch with.
If you can't figure it out, you can do it the old school way and play the DVD on a DVD player and record the output with your MAC's sound card. Sometimes it just easier to just buy the song.
