I feel terribly out of control when I'm banging on pads. I like it for auditioning sounds and sometimes playing along fumbly to test ideas out... but god I'm just awful at it. But these videos do look awesome. And it looks like it's practically MADE for hip hop.
I do like how it controls Ableton (I was looking at videos for that). It's cool that it does both in one controller.
If finger drumming isn't really your thing or you struggle a bit with it, there's always the step sequencer. I'm a big fan of that part of maschine. Great for loop making and such.
Hmm interesting. I tried out the step sequencer in M4L in Ableton with my APC40 and I put together a listenable beat faster than I EVER have before. EVER. That was pretty awesome.
It sure is! Step automation is pretty rad too. Just hold a pad down in STEP mode for a second and then you can step in any automation parameters.
Of course note repeat rocks too. Need a nice 16th note high hat? Dial in 1/16th, hold note repeat, and hold your high hat pad, altering the velocity very nicely as it records using the touch sensitivity of the pads.
"Oooh look at me.... I wrote the Internet!"
Love my maschine mikro! Everyday is an fight on what I should play with, DJing or producing I don't have enough time to do both in one day.
