Question How much to design a website?

Hey guys.. I have made a few website for myself and family/friends... now someone actually wants to hire me to design their site. How much would you charge? Using GoDaddy, Host Gator, Word Press + Custom Themes?

Should I charge a flat rate to get the site up then per hour for updates?

    Per hour all the way?

    How much per hour?

Simple website for an online business, but not online shopping cart. Input please

I know with GoDaddy you can get a 1yr domain name & hosting, with a tons of backend stuff, like 5 dbs, for around $60.

I heard Host Gator was very good, but not sure on pricing. So depending on your lvl of skill, i'd say $200. Then again, these same ppl might look at that as way too much. It's been hard to find decent paying gigs from ppl who want small sites, so you might have to go as low as $120 and build some rep.

I'd pay up to $500 for a killer website with top SEO. But I do weddings in the Philly market so the SEO would be the hardest part.

I can do minimal SEO... with custom tags/meta titles for the site and per page.

Gonna be fishing around for some clients myself soon. What I plan to do is estimate how long I'm gonna be working on something and give the client a flat rate to get the whole thing up.

That is what I think I am going to do.. but for your knowledge on putting it together, what do you think a fair per hour rate is?

I personally hover around €10-15 per hour of work that I estimate (and I generally end up working longer on it ha!). I don't consider myself a big professional though so don't like to charge too much.

Thats about $35.. I think ill just charge about $50/hour after base.. its gonna cost her around $180 for domain + hosting for 3 years. I would like to make $250 - $300.. too much?
