NDX400/800 - Dodgy Play button workaround?

Just a quicky for anyone with an NDX400 or 800 handy; did a bit of searching but couldn't find an answer - apologies if this has been done before!

Is there a way of starting a track *without* using the Play button? I've got the chance for a quick deal on a couple of 800s, but one has a broken play button and I urgently need to use them tomorrow... obviously, I'll be getting it fixed as soon as I can, but in the mean time I can't really get them unless I find some sort of workaround for the next 24 hours!

Any ideas? I don't suppose the Pause button doubles up as Play when the unit's stopped?

can't you use the plattern in vinyl mode. that's another way to start a track. on pioneer CDJs at least.

Thanks man, that definitely sounds logical - can anyone with a Numark deck confirm?

Just to update in case anyone ever searches this thread... you can do this. Songs can be started with the "Reloop" button... you can then pause, scratch to your cue point and use the Hot Cues to set them so you don't really lose any functionality (well, unless you want to use a single cue point on the Cue button whilst using the looping/sampling as they share buttons with the Hot Cues)

Of course, I'm still gonna get the play button replaced... but it's worth knowing just in case.
