Panel mount A/C receptacle for a rack.

I just ordered a SKB DJ station for all my gear. I have a rack mount Furman power bar I plug everything into. I want something that I can panel mount to to the back of my case so I can plug in the Furman cord on one end and plug in an extension cord on the other. anyone know were I can get something like this?

Are you interested in trying Powercon?
Those are connectors made by Neutrik.
They are widely available in both genders and are the latest "professional" flavour of the month.

If you prefer to stick with the standard u-ground panel mount (flanged) connector, you could look at this

Hope one of those solutions works

I've used the Powercon connectors in the past. The advantage is that it locks, so you can't accidently unplug power at the rack. The downside is that you can't just connect any old extension/power cord. You'll need to make sure you have extra Powercon cords, just in case.

So you want a flanged inlet on a 19" rack panel? That would take up 2 rack spaces and then you would need to build a break-out quad box on the other end.

I would just stay with what your doing. IMHO you would only be wasting money and over complicating things...

I want to but the power and XLR connections on the back. I though about putting it on the front so the cables would not show but I don't want the cables near my feet.

    Why a quad box?
solution 1. Cut the cord cap off the furman and connect it directly to the flanged inlet.
solution 2. Use a 1110 utility box and a duplex receptacle with cover.
There are other solutions, of course. I'm just wondering why the need for a quad box when the Furman is already a power strip.
Although I agree it adds a level of complication, it can clean up the "look"
You are right, though... The flanged inlet requires 2 rack spaces of height. If there were other connectors that needed to go on the back, there should be room for them.
I think it depends on what else you're putting in the case.

The OP doesn't seem to want to cut the plug off the Furman, but I agree it would be the easiest and cheapest way to do it.

    Per the OP:

The OP could do single gang box, but I always do quads.

PS: A cord cap is the female end. The male end is the "plug".
