Hip Hop Tour DJ Question

Hey what's up everyone?

I Have a simple question.

Now see I'm mainly scratch DJ but I can also beat juggle in the simple form of it. Usually what I do though is record my scratches over hip hop tracks for myself or other local artist. Recently a local rapper here asked me if I would be his tour DJ when he does tours and or shows. Mind you, I have worked with him before on songs so we know each other.

The thing is I don't really know everything the DJ does during a hip hop show. I told him if he wants me to add live scratches to his show I can do that no problem and I can even beat juggle a little bit during the show. I've been watching shows on youtube by artists like Gang Starr, EPMD, DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince to see exactly what the DJ is doing back there and it's always like they're doing something different. I watched one of DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince and all Jeff did was scratch while The Fresh Prince rapped but I watched another show they did and Jazzy Jeff got real nasty.

He told me he's not going to have another show for a few months so what should I practice/learn to prepare myself for this because I'm really looking forward to it and I think that it's something that I would really enjoy doing.

Quick Note: I watched an Eric B. & Rakim show and it was like Eric B. wasn't doing anything but fading one song to the next.

I already posted this in Mix Subs, but I thought I'd post it in here as well. It's a 30 minute guest mix I did for The Bobby Tempo Show on XL-FM, a radio show in my home town. It's a mix of funk, breaks, jazz and old school electro. While it's not strictly "hip-hop", I picked all the tracks in the first half of the mix because they had fat beats and I count electro (at least the old school stuff) as a sub-section of hip-hop so don't hate on me for posting this here, haha. It's a multitracked mix with a couple of scratch breaks, scratch drumming etc. in it, so there's some technical stuff in there for people that are into that. Hopefully some of you will dig it. I have to say, I have nothing to contribute to this thread, but that's mainly why I'm starting it. The stuff I've checked out hasn't been that great, so maybe you guys can recommend something.

Oh yeah, I did quite like the most recent Ghostface LP, but overall I thought it was one of his weaker efforts. I do like this track a lot though: -

I am using the PRO S Ortofon needles but they keep on jumping when i am scratching and doubling up on tracks etc I have been on the Ortofon website and got the needle spect etc but dont really understand

Can somebody help me and let me know the best way to set theses babies up so they dont jump e.g

Anti Scratch Should be set to?
Weight Should be set to?
Tone Arm?

Also i saw a video on youtube where the weight was placed the over way round

Basically I just need help setting theses needles up so they dont jump
