does anyone do tone arm dampening? i saw once where you could fill the tone arm with silicon gel and deaded the vibrations, seems legit.

If you isolate feet correctly, and set up the sound correctly there is not need for dampening the tone arm. I have heard of people doing it in a few different ways, but never actually done it or experienced it.

Quick question: what's the double zero mod?

I think he's talking about removing the electrical portion of the pitch control on/off switch, as he mentions removing the "click" (the mechanical portion of that same switch) also.
