Wanted to see how y'all use sample packs (if you do), and mostly what you use them for.

For me, I tend to just use my trusty vengeance essential house pack for the stock percussion one-shots, which i'll write my own beats with. I don't care much for synthesizing percussion, so I'll just drop samples in the order I want them, and add in shaker loops and whatever other funky groovy stuff I find and chop it up into a beat.

Really don't touch any of the synth loops much. I do however really like sample packs that have material that would be impossible to re-create with VST's, like acoustic guitar loops from big fish, or the 'desert oud' pack from world strings series. can't emulate the expression represented there, so it's nice t have those, but other than that I like just being able to have quality percussion I can re-arrange and chop up.

I Like Dem Vengance Packs Too, Aswell As Just Random Freebies Round The Net, I Got 3 Uses For Em :)

1. For the drums (kicks, hats, snares ect...) one shot's, No loops, just the sounds. To lazy to make my own nore do i really care to tbh

2. For the tracks that where created using them like Knas, Lick The Rainbow, Raw 2 Da Floor ect.....I take the sample pack and treat it as stems for those tracks and make my own remixes, edits and whatnot

3. I get lazy, I want a sound and they have it, I will use it, I wont add a whole loop, But sample parts of a bassline for example, add my own fx and such on it to make it sound a bit different and use that

Sample Packs Are Great Tools :)

I usually just splice together a few vengeance samples. Sometimes I find that perfect sample that I can just dump right into the track with a little bit of EQ+Processing, but usually I just splice them with other samples. For kicks, I generally steal a topkick from vengeance, synthesize the sub, harmonize them (or warp the waves), and I'm done.
