Hello everybody

The secrets out; I like Goa Trance. My knowledge extends as far as a few You Tube mixes. That's it. It's not a scene I'm looking to get heavily in to. However, I'm going to Egypt in a few weeks so I'd like to stock up on some good quality Goa Trance mixes that I can enjoy by the poolside whilst smoking a sheesha pipe. ;)

I've heard some other Trance too, which I enjoy, so I don't think it's just Goa that I like. Basically I'm not in to the cheesy stuff. I like it fast, quite heavy and deep.

Any recommendations?

+rep :)

i'm not too educated in the goa/psy area but you can always check out the Goa/Psychedelic group on soundcloud. there usually are a few good mixing floating around. for edgier trance maybe try indecent noise or john askew.

Check out this place http://www.ektoplazm.com/ lots of good, free and quality psytrance there, you can browse by subgenres. Check out Ekoplex, Jikkenti, Mindex and Anakoluth, just to name a few.

Now for specific artist that fit that description Iw ill break it down in 3 lists:

Old stuff, pre 2000:

Hallucinogen
Hux flux
Kox box
Infected musrrom (first two albums)
X-dream

Post 2000 sutff

Logic bomb
The misted puppet
Mr peculiar
OOOD
Prometheus

From the psy prog scene:

Spirallianz, specially the album "one way limited"
Son kite - "perspectives of.." album, also "colours" album but is much more melodic stuff
Ticon - second album "rewind"
Cosma - non stop
Freq - carbon based lifeforms

And dont forget to listen to Shpongle (by Simon posford the gy from hallucinogen) and Younger brother first albums, if you like spychedelic stuff you will be blown away with his music.

Check out the mixes in my sig. They're all tagged, so you should be able to pick out any particular artists you like and find more of their stuff.
