I am a mobile DJ and I want to consolidate all of my misc crap into 1 or 2 bags. I already have a laptop bag. I keep my laptop, vinyl controllers, notes, pens, business cards, mic, etc in. Now I need a bag for my cables, tape, tool kit, spare parts, etc. Need something that can hold a good amount of weight, cables are heavy. Preferably in black. i was thinking of just heading out to the surplus store and picking up something from there. but wanted to see what other options are out there before I do that.

I use a gig bag from Gator Cases. I really do like it. It's padded and holds a LOT of weight. Only problem is, it holds a lot of weight. I have a rolling rack i bring in with me and throw it on top of there to move if I'm going very far. So, you might consider getting one with wheels?

Dunno where to start really. $225, 2 bags in one, backpack or shoulder strap, multiple pockets, I'm getting one soon.

Whats your budget? Im thinking about buying this one for everything - http://orbitconcepts.com/products/jetpack not big enough plus this is already my laptop bag http://www.musiciansfriend.com/accessories/mono-cases-efx-365-dj-pack/583530000397000?src=3WWRWXGB&cagpspn=pla&gclid=COqmhbGTzbACFUQaQgodyFk_Vw its big enough to hold my mic, laptop, vinyl, business cards, and other smalls. Its perfect for if I just have to go and plug in my laptop and go to work. But I definitely need another bag or two for the rest.

This: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Musicians-Gear-6-Space-Microphone-Bag-/300624671240?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item45fea07208

They are only $30 shipped and can actually hold a good amount of cable. You really can't go wrong. I have 4 of them lol. One for speaker cable, one for power/XLR cable, one for audio cable, and one for my spare mixer, wires, mics, etc. Sounds like you could get by with just one or two.

They also make a good bag for puck LED lighting. Can fit 6 Chauvet Par 38's in there.

I also use one of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Musicians-Gear-Professional-Music-Gear-Bag-/200768307172?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2ebeb93fe4#ht_2942wt_1396

It can fit my S4, two 15" laptops, and a bunch of miscellaneous cables and microphones, etc. It's actually quite big. Might be a better option that the one I listed above.

Woww! You guys spend some crazy money on backpacks. This one costs alot less and it's a fantastic backpack, specifically made for DJs, decent quality, very nicely padded, and will fit records, laptop, cables, controllers etc, no problem ...

I like both of those you listed. I think I am going to check out a surplus store and check some bags out there. If not go with 1 of these to start.

I use a Jetpack remix for my Laptop, tablet, Ext hard drive etc... but my cables and etc i just use a Nike sb duffle bag its plain black, no logos or any of that crazy stuff. May have another one laying around that i use in combo with my main one for larger gigs

If you are carrying sensitive things like mics or a controller I would recommend a road case instead of a bag. http://www.roadreadycases.com/ http://www.odysseygear.com/odyssey-search/flight_zone_microphone_cases.html

If it is misc stuff and/or wires I would recommend one of these instead of a bag. Stanley rolling tool box.
