Mixer wise, you're not going to get anything worth a damn for $400 with significant MIDI control. If you only have $400 to burn on a mixer, I'd skip the mixer and CDJ and go right to a controller of some kind. What's your overall budget?

Time to save more money then. The Denon DN-X600 (two channels) is probably the cheapest decent-quality mixer with MIDI control, and it's about $700US.

I see its also a stand alone mixer, have u use it?
I wonder how that works, does just the mixer section "faders, eq's" work?

The DNX600 is an excellent, little brother to the DNX1600  Looked at this option before getting my DNX1600. I wanted some thing good that could use software but mostly stand alone. With out braking the bank or my bonus from work. I spent more than my bonus (thanks to Income TAX and VAT) but its worth every penny :music:

Don't know if he can spend more than $400 thou

I don't understand what you want. If you want to use CD players and a mixer as MIDI controllers, just buy a MIDI controller (and save some money).

How about that behringer ddm4000? That's in your price range. Nothing else comes to mind that has midi.

Is true well "the best" MIDI controllers are around 800 to 1000 euro, so i would save some money. But i really want to be able too also play on just "A pioneer or denon" set you know. The midi function would also be really nice. Because i don't want to say bye bye to using software and this way i don't need to buy or keep a midi controller.

Btw i checked out the Reloop IQ2 Midi mixer seems like a good deal.

Korg Zero 4. I'm selling one for $350 and it's midi mappable.

Thanks. If I recall correctly, Punky actually has a Zero 4, so I think he would agree that it's a good MIDI mappable mixer :P

I own a Zero4 and I think it's great, but no, I would disagree completely that it's a good MIDI mappable mixer. While it DOES have MIDI, using it as an actual mixer as well as for MIDI is an exercise in frustration. Whenever you switch from MIDI to audio, there are sound drop outs. And it lacks the buttons for really effective Traktor or Ableton control. Unless you want to run the whole thing straight MIDI, and screw using it as a mixer, I wouldn't bother using it for MIDI.

Really, the best reason to recommend the Zero4 is the per-channel FX sections, which sound and control great. And for $350, it's an absolute steal. You get five FX units, a loop sampler, and a Traktor-certified interface in a fairly tough, well built mixer. Crazy good.

He's right. "Playing on a Denon or Pioneer" ain't that great, in the end. It's all hype, dogg.
