I have a gig coming up that a family graduation party and they requested maintstream, hip hop, pop but they also requested cha cha songs... I have no clue what are Cha Cha songs :uhoh: I was wondering if anyone can recommend me a list of Cha Cha songs or a website with Cha Cha songs. Btw this is a Filipino Graduation Party if anyone is familiar with the crowd.

If I am understanding your post correctly the songs I am familiar with are line/slide dance songs, the ones listed below can be purchased on Itunes.
DJ Casper - Cha Cha Slide 2
Cupid - Cupid Shuffle
Marcia Griffiths - Electric Slide

http://www.shawntrautman.com/cha-chasonglist.aspx (Scroll half way down the page for this list)
These are three sites that look like have a lot of the same music. I am really surprised at some of the songs in these lists but, I guess I am thinking of music from the 40's for the cha cha. I would just suggest taking advise from others here & possibly choose some of the more popular songs from these three lists & see if they will work.
Once you have a list of the 5, 10, 20 or 30 songs that you need for the event, you might want to present the list to the client & see if its what they had in mind for music. Personally, again, I had more of 30's & 40's music in mind for a Cha Cha.
The Cha Cha that I know about is not a line dance as Bumpy is thinking of... and he may be right on track, as both of us are guessing now I think. The Cha Cha is a couples dance that similar in stance to a two step but is kinda between a two step & a waltz. So, see if you can clear up what they are really looking for.
Hope this helps... Good luck :)

I would agree that the beat is correct for a cha cha that I had in mind. However, the tempo is a bit faster than I had in mind. BUT, in the end, I would certainly classify it as a "Cha Cha dancable" song.
Whether its what the client wants is yet to be determined.....
Again hope this helps..

from the motherland. if you dont think the family is 'straight from the philipines' this might be a hit or miss song. if they recognize it youll get some good laughs.

We have been watching video's from you tube & its been very helpful. I think it would be an asset to you to go check you tube for some cha cha dancing vid's :)
It helped me get an idea of the cha cha with newer music...

My term of line may be a little off (pardon the confusion) we often up reference line and slide dances in my area with the Cha Cha Side, Electric Slide, etc. The OP's post is not that descriptive, however I think the OP is talking about a more modern slide dance like the Cha Cha Slide by DJ Casper.

The Cha Cha Slide is a common one as mentioned above. Another one I haven't seen too many DJs do is a spinoff of sorts of the Cha Cha Slide called the Mississippi Stomp. People seem to love it when I play it, so it's another one to keep in mind.
Just so this thread wont go more a-stray, he was asking about Cha Cha songs... not line dance songs.
The Cha Cha is Spanish style music.
