This may sound like a complete n00b statement but for some reason I find Somebody I Used To Know (Tiesto Remix) the most difficult song to mix :mad: The kick messes up my flow somewhat. Is this just me? I've been DJing for about 4 yrs and i find this the most difficult track to mix...

Focus on the snare instead.

Or the hihats. Gave it a listen, I can see how the double kick could throw you off.

It'll come to you

Are you having trouble finding the 1 beat? the double drum hits are the end of a 2 bar phrase...the down beat is the first beat after the double snare. So its double kick double snare then the 1 beat. Get that and then listen to the high hits as they are more constant...

You should try to find the mashup of Avicii's Levels with Somebody I used to know. It works wonders!

There was also a mash up of Sebastian ingrosso / alessos calling and somebody I used to know floating around that was pretty awsome.

Was on one of tiestos podcasts!

You should mash up Call Me Maybe with Levels and Somebody That I Used To Know.

It was a little tough for me when I first heard it, but I just stuck it in as the first song on my podcast so I didnt have to mix into it.

Care to explain? I know you like that facepalm emoticon, but you still need to explain.

Everybody in the world plays Levels. Similarly, there are hundreds if not thousands of remixes, mashups, and bootlegs. In other words, do yourself a favor and stay away from it.

I find Somebody I Used To Know (Tiesto Remix) is really difficult to mix! You are not alone with this problem!

Being a musician for years helped me figure out where the downbeats are, but the hihat off beats definitely do help. For some reason I thought you would be referring to Marilyn Manson's "Beautiful People". Now THAT would be an interesting one to throw into a mix.
