Mix 1
Watch your levels! "Baxter!!" was slapping me in the face all over the room! Nice mix up of hip hop. I hear the Queen and everyone knows not to call her a bitch! Shes a big woman! Anyways the mix was different. Had me laughing at the end with the fuck you vs Beethoven song.

Mix 2
Really enjoyed the tracks here, i recognize alot of them. Even tho it seemed more dub-steppish at first, you really worked your way back into the core of the moombahton genre. You had my latin roots jumpin.

Like i said, I really enjoyed Mix 2. It has my vote.

Liked both mixes, very different from each other.

Mix 1: The "Baxter" sample was way too loud in the beginning , but I liked the old school vibe of your tracks.

Mix 2: Good song selection as well, but around the 2:30 mark the mix gets a bit rough (vocals on vocals, EQ). Felt it could have been smoother.

Kind of a tough choice but I went with mix 1.
Nice job guys.

so this is moombahton?

Mix one - i too thought the baxter sample was cute hehe

mix two - it sounded like some familiar tracks that were speed adjusted.

i know nothing about moombahton but this style of music was enjoyable. I liked both mixes.

Is it possible to submit a spoilt vote?

but if i had to vote i guess mix 1

I'm gonna have to go with mix one. I felt the mixing was better. I liked the latin influence too.

Mix two had the types of moombahton that I'd probably play, but the beat sounded off a few times throughout the mix and I wasn't able to look past it.

I am going with mix 2, just seemed a little more Moombahee than the first.....Mix 1 was real cool but fell short of the 15 min minimum. Mix 2 has a little hicup around 9;50but I love the song/s in go into!

Mix 2, winner winner chicken dinner....

Had to go with 1 on song selection but that sampled almost killed it for me.
2 was there as well but I could only choose 1

voting for mix one the mixing was smoother, and i liked the overall song selection.

mix two was good as well although there were some hiccups. also it started off strong and went softer towards the end, that is cool but if eel like for a short battle you need to start strong and finish at the same level or stronger. also not a real big fan of too many lazers.

Mix 1 : Really liking the old-school vibe! Real creative and different.
Mix 2 : Not really my type of track selection but the vocals began t get a little loud or clash through some parts of the mix.

Vote goes to mix 1

Ha ha, good for Canada. That puts us at 1 and 1. We will have to have a rubber match for true bragging rights. All you did this battle was pull yourself out of the hole and put us at even. Next time, I will bring the glory of victory back to United States. What shall we do for a rematch?

How about open format next time?

The Baxter
05-29-2012, 09:24 AM
I'd be cool with that, but I think that the problem with open format is that voters ignore the technical aspect and go with whatever flavor they like. Say you go house and I do dubstep, voters will use that as the sole basis for voting prefrence. What about the opposite, one tracklist? Or maybe a 15 min video battle?

Yeah I was thinking we'd def have that issue if it was open format.
I don't understand one playlist, How would that work??
We still need a genre or something for a video.
