just out of curiosity, how many max4live, max5/6, or puredata guys are lurking these woods? (or any other modular platforms, list if you will!)
would there be any benefit to having a modular/programming/patching section on djF?

i've noticed modular systems are slowly becoming more popular, with more people using them for their offerings, and not just for their programmability. this is especially true with many DJs who mostly have a preference of having 'turn-key' style systems to work with, and would prefer to do-without having to spend countless hours patching a system together.

recently, i've noticed as well, that though modular systems seem more geared towards producer-oriented or engineer/tech-oriented people, we're starting to see many more applications of modular systems towards dj-oriented systems. I, for one, have been building dj-oriented devices in max4live for over the past 6-months, for use with ableton live 8, serato scratchlive, serato itch, and many items that work with various NI instruments (such as massive, absynth, fm8, battery3).

i personally think that a modular/programming/patching section would not only inspire others to get involved, but would wholy benefit the creative commons of modular systems and allow easability for other's to work together, get inspired from each other's ideas, or just simply become a resource for n00bs to come seek assistance, or just to rinse for research. sure, many could argue that there are a plethora of resources online about programming that one could seek (some could also argue that these resources are few & far-between...), but ideally, the benefit of modular systems is the ability to expand upon someone elses work, and when you bring the resources into one like-minded forum (DJF), the resources can be used/consumed/absorbed/edited/etc more efficiently by everybody, both the contributors, and the users.

I nerded on MaxMSP for a while during college (circa 2006), but never fully took the leap into Max4Live. Love the concept. I'd be interested in a patching forum.

One to add to the list would be jeskola buzzmachines (http://jeskola.net/buzz/) .... there's another one but i can't think of the name ... jeboudle oslt ...

Kludged a few patches to demonstrate OSC for an assignment in networking on Pd before. That's about it.
