I'm looking to ditch my old Behringer mixer. I need something that can do pretty much the same thing for under say, $200.
Seeing as the "Tape out" doesn't even work on this mixer and the fact that I don't trust Behringer products, I want to get a new small format one that will last, and accomplish the same thing. I use this one to plug my laptop into then out to my 312A's, occasionally i'll plug my iPhone into it and a few mics during small live sound events. (I know, I cheaped out when buying my mixer a year ago and went with the Behringer).

This is what I own now: http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/1204USB.aspx

I have no idea where to start when looking for a mixer, any help is appreciated

I saw this at the link below.. I don't have one so I don't know about the quality.. but you are not gonna find a good 4 channel mixer for $200.
I personally use Deno DN-X1100 which is about $650 wherever you look, and I love this mixer.

Numark im9 4-channel mixer with support for Ipod connection $100.

Thanks, but I'm not really looking for a "Dj mixer". More for something closer to live sound, more then something with a cross fader meant for Djing . Just something like what I already have (link above) but higher quality

I've got a Yamaha mg102c, and so far am pretty darn stoked: http://www.amazon.com/Yamaha-MG102C-Input-Stereo-Mixer/dp/B000Z7C9T8

For djing, I use this to route my little studio sound. For production, I use the send/receive with a bass guitar pedal.

There also exists a version with effects, the mg83cx: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/MG82cx

Basically same shit, minus one stereo pair, plus the effects kit.

That's perfect! I'll pick that thing up when I get the money, but it would be nice to find something just like that but a little smaller and not blue lol (black or gray would be fine)

I know i'm just being picky but if nobody else has any suggestions i'll pick that up

Also It would be nice to have a Usb input aswell, like my behringer one does.

The small format Behringer Xenyx line are actually pretty good for the price.

I mean…the preamps are noisy as hell and they do fail, but I've used a small pile of them for live sound and they've always gotten me through whatever I was doing except for the times when they were just plain dead for no apparent reason. Each time that's happened, though, I just went and bought another one.

If you're micing up a full band in a real venue, you owe it to your patrons to get something half decent. But you can easily get away with a Xenyx if you're doing something smaller like a house party or something. I'm pretty sure I used that exact mixer for more than one Fraternity band party.

Did it sound like a Soundcraft or A&H board? No. Was it good enough for the budget I was given……absolutely.

No worries but thanks anyway.

Anyway yeah I know these would be acceptable budget mixers but I'm still looking for something I can trust. Xlr outs and USB ins is one of the things I'm looking for, (preferably with an Eq on the RCA inputs). That would be perfect.

Anyone got suggestions?

I found one from A&H which is exactly what I'm looking for but it's still pretty expensive, anything like this but cheaper?

That looks great. However when I think of Peavey, I think entry level or low quality. Is that the case with this mixer? Or am I better off going with the A&H one I posted?

I just saw your post about the A&H, that should be a good one because A&H stuffs are reliable.. I will personally go with that.
