I have 2 18" carvin subs with an amp that delivers 1000 watts to each of them.
yeah... they kick ass... they are hooked up in my basement...with my mackie speakers... sometimes I hook up my system on them just for fun... but it gets really loud.
I actually got them to do some live stuff myself....
Anyway... Carvin makes great quality stuff... although I would probably go for the mackie subs next time (the combo with the amp in the box) just because they are much easier to haul around and setup and that's what I do... I am not unsatisfied with my speakers though!
So, the point is... Carvin is quality, and they have pretty decent prices. (http://www.carvin.com). All the other stuff I've seen at the Guitar Center for the same price they offer their stuff for is crap.
