I'm looking to get 2-4 moving head lights for Djing, but i want something bright. price range is $500-$1000

I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with either the Blizzard Ice 60 or the Blizzard G60. Any thoughts between the two? seems like g60 is brighter, but the ice 60 is much smaller and lighter.

Also, I was wondering if anyone knew of any dealers they could refer me to for good prices on Blizzard lights.

Thanks!

Check out the Intimidator spot LED 250 for around $550. They are compact and light but offer tons of features for the price. Here is a video of my buddy using 4 in a small room this weekend. He just bought 2 for himself, the other 2 are mine.

The one thing I noticed is that the prism doesn't activate that much in sound active mode.

I appreciate the advice, but I think i am looking for something brighter than those. I may end up using them to do smaller stage lighting for bands also. I know the ice 60 isn't quite as bright as the G60, but videos I've seen of the G60 are super bright, and i've heard the ice 60 is close.

What else do you need to know. I have some insight on blizzard lights.

I'm a Blizzard dealer and would be happy to help.

Out of the two you'll want the G60 even if for the indexing gobos alone. If you're doing weddings and mobile DJ work, offering custom gobos for your clients, you'll need that particular feature on the G60, and at 28lbs. its not hard to move around at all.

Why no love for Chauvet's Q-Spot 260? It's essentially the same light as the G60, and a tad bit less expensive (or at least more readily available). I have a couple of these, and LOVE them.

I like the Q Spot 260 as well, but the Blizzard options are in the same price range, and are just as readily available. I'm a Blizzard dealer too and can help you with whatever you need from them.

well check this light out

it is the same light that blizzard (ice 60) and eternal (stellarxt) use, but obviously you will probably not get any warranty which is the only downfall.

they also have this in the 30w led version which I'm debating on getting. I already have intimidator spot led 150s which are only 15w and are pretty damn bright, I've used them with martin scx500s and martin mx-4 scanners and you really could not tell which one is brighter, when they were in motion.

I'm looking into getting a pair of the ADJ vizi spots, they're a little more expensive but you get a ton of features for the price.

I ended up ordering 2 Chauvet Intimidator Spot LED 350's. They have most of the features as comparable products, but they come with a 75 watt LED. I'll let you know what I think when they come in.

Im not a big fan of ADJ moving heads, but the vizi 5r are nice. the xmoves are nice lil heads, but for less you can get better ones.

but everyone has their own preferences and needs :)

Hate to bump an older thread, but in the market for some moving heads and was looking at the Blizzard Ice 60's...actually some non branded Blizzard ones at a cheaper price and was wondering what is the difference between indexing and non-indexing?

Be aware there are two different versions of the Ice60 floating around.. a 13ch and a 15ch. The 13ch does not have rotating gobos or a prism and is pretty much a complete waste of your time, ESC in TO was selling some of these 13 channel versions and I never thought to ask about this before buying them and had to send them back. But I also have some unbranded 15ch versions I purchased directly from China and they work well. Indexing gobos gives you precise gobo rotational positioning.. something that is a must for theater work but probably not so important for a DJ.

Ah I miss ESC from living in Toronto for 3 years. I see some Chauvet Intimidator Spot 350's selling for around $1000 each..I may just grab two of those...
