How can i improve?

I use Logic Pro 9 and this is a preview of my first track, Im not sure how i can make it better... I think it sounds a bit amateur and the mixing is a bit wierd haha. Please give feedback and tell me how to improve.

First off, I would at least get a hold of some more exciting samples, the drum samples you got there aren't the best I've heard. I know they're a bit "commercial" but as a beginner I myself find the Vengeance Sample Packs easy to use, and they don't need enormous amounts of tweaking to sound decent.

Secondly you need some more going on after the drop, just that one synth an som kickdrums doesn't make it stand out alot. And you need to get your synth a bit more exciting, both sound design-wise, and by making it a bit less repetitive. Fatten it up a bit, it sound a bit "hollow" :)

I found this old wolfgang gartner song has a bit of the same "feel" to it, pretty simple. Have a listen to it and try to sort out the differences in his and yours.

I'm a newbie to producing myself, so I'm sorry I can't go more specific as to what you actually need to do.. :P

Also.. I found these vids pretty useful as to figuring out "what components do I need to get that full sound". He makes a walkthrough of the songs with all the instruments, effects added, the piano roll etc. Helped me out alot at least. And if you're using FL, he also has his project files available for download ;)

And you should probably get a full version of whatever synth you're using :p

Thanks so much for giving me some tips, i have already made some improvements to it, im just having trouble to make it sound less amateurish and sound like a proffessional song. I will check out the that sample pack and those vids :)
