Currently using (4) Martin SCX500 and with the addition of my newest lights, (2) Chauvet COLORrails, it's time to start looking at ditching the 150W halogen and possibly going with LED. As you can see from the picture below, the COLORrails engulf any light beams coming from the SCX500s. I had to drop them to 10% brightness to really match them up with the scanners.

I don't really have a budget but I only do about 1 gig a month, sometimes skipping a month, so I'm not looking at investing a ton of money into this, but just curious what you all think a good step up from the SCX would be, that can match up with the COLORrails.

I'm thinking maybe the Intimidator spots?

The Blizzard torrent's are one of the brightest LED moving heads available. They are much brighter than my 150 Watt Discharge Martin Mini Macs, so they should be plenty bright for your needs.

The intimidator spot 250 LED has no trouble cutting through the output of Puck 3's. According to the lux specs the 250 LED is nearly twice as bright at 2m than your 500's. If you will always be using a controller, the 350 LED would be a great option but the 250 is a great deal and great light for a mobile DJ.

You can also try the ice 60. Super small and light, with more features and brighter than the Chauvet 250.
