1. What computer/laptop are you using: Brand/Make, Size
Gateway P-7805u FX, 17". When someone makes a 21" laptop with a great graphics card, I'll buy that.
2. Specs: Processor, RAM, HDD/SSD, Video Card, USB ports (2.0/3.0?)
Core2Duo, 4GB DDR3, 1.28TB over two HDDs, 9800M GTS, paltry three USB ports.
3. Advantages/weakness
Dual drive bays, lasting gaming power, fast, big screen, desktop replacement, all my stuff on one box, cost-efficient.
vs
Big.
4. OS
Windows XP SP3 and Xubuntu. Will eventually try to get OSX on here like I had on my previous laptop.
5. Programs installed, games, other softwares (non-DJ/audio)
Steam, all kinds of games, development tools, VirtualBox.
6. DJ/Audio softwares used
Scratch Live, Acid, Audacity, iTunes, Google Music, FLAC decoder.
7. Any problems experienced/occurred (if there are/were)
Screen is slightly washed out and has mediocre viewing angles. Doesn't dispense high quality alcoholic beverages. Nothing else to speak of.
8. How long have you been using it or purchase date?
Over three years. Early 2009?
9. What was your previous computer?
ASUS F3SV and a custom shuttle-style gaming rig that cost all of $200 to build and laughed at Crysis.
10. Why you purchased your current one?
A falling 60" plasma TV beheaded the ASUS, and I wanted a laptop better suited for virtualization anyway.
11. Your other/secondary computer (if any)
My tablet and phone fulfill all of my "don't need a monster laptop" needs.

Should add: What do you think you will get next?
Something with even more unholy amounts of power at a justifiable price, but only when this machine starts to actually feel slow. Probably another ASUS.

Note, my current and only computer is one I bought in a hurry just before I made my move to the States.

Laptop - Toshiba Qosmio X500. (Bought it open box. Price was too good to say no to)
Screen - 18.4" - Yeah, this thing is huge. Too bad there's not a single laptop bag to fit this thing out there in the market, lol.
Processor - Core i7 740QM - that's 1.7GHz quad core, so it's far from the greatest out there. However, it does the job.
RAM - 8GB DDR3 1066
HD - 2 X 500GB - 7200RPM
Sound Card - In-built - Very average.
GPU - nVidia GTS 360M - This thing has managed to do decently with the few games I've thrown at it.
Screen - 1980X1080 - HD native resolution.

1. What computer/laptop are you using: Brand/Make, Size

A: See above

3. Advantages/weakness
A: Big screen and meant to be somewhat of a desktop replacement. Picked it up only for the decent price I got on it. Weak processing power. It does the job, but it can be slow every now and then. Running a clean install of Windows 7. Hate all the bloatware that comes loaded stock. It is very heavy for a laptop. While it has good resolution, I feel the screen brightness isn't great. A laptop that accepts multiple drives is an advantage. I'll eventually jump on the SSD bandwagon.

4. OS

A: Windows 7 Home Premium

5. Programs installed, games, other softwares (non-DJ/audio)
A: It is my primary computer so it has games on it, CSS, FIFA, etc. Photoshop and productivity apps.

6. DJ/Audio softwares used
A: Ableton, VDJ, Traktor

7. Any problems experienced/occured (if there are/were)
A: The processor is a little on the slower side, though I've never encountered issues with crashing or lagging (bar the rare one here and there) with any of the programs I have installed)

8. How long have you been using it or purchase date?
A: Picked this up early 2011

9. What was our previous computer?
A: Wasn't doing much DJ related work with software before. It was an HP desktop that had an upgraded PSU, GPU, RAM, etc. AMD dual core processor, 2 GHz. As slow as this desktop was, it never skipped a beat and I took great care of it.

10. Why you purchased your current one?
A: Needed a laptop as I was moving and had no final destination at the time.

11. Your other/secondary computer (if any)
A: None at the moment

8. It's been with me since Sept. 2011

10. I bought a newer one because the 600m was aging. I had it since 2005 and worked with me for 6 years with no problems at all.

3. Advantages/weakness - A LOT of computer for the price, runs everything really well and eats all my DJ apps for breakfast. Has one wonky USB port that makes the connection just fine but the cable can slip out very easily. The screen could be a little higher res.

3. Advantages/weakness

Pros = It was cheap (I couldn't have built my own cheaper at the time, so that's why I bought it) and easy to upgrade. It's small. It's incredibly quiet now that I've swapped out a few parts and modified the GPU fans.

Cons = Could do with a bigger case and extra hard drive bays.

Adobe Audition
Voxengo r8brain
dBpoweramp

7. Any problems experienced/occured (if there are/were)

The monitor that came with it buzzed when it was on standby, but Dell sent another one out by courier which arrived the next day.

8. How long have you been using it or purchase date?

Since about 2008 I think.

9. What was our previous computer?

A PIII-800!

10. Why you purchased your current one?

The old one was struggling due to the weak specs.

11. Your other/secondary computer (if any)

I've got a Sony Vaio laptop which had Windows XP on it, then Ubuntu, and it currently has the Windows 8 developer preview on it. I bought it in case I got back into gigging, but I never did and have rarely used it.

I run an older Dell Dimension P4 3.0Ghz. Its a rebuilt PC with minimal specs but works great for Torq and Audacity. I've never had an issue with it and it was free so no complaints at all with it. My main PC is a custom i3, but I don't use it for DJing since all my equipment is int he basement and my office is upstairs.

9. What was our previous computer?

A PIII-800!

 Nice. I used to do my faderwave sets on a P3 700.

Laptop and Desktop are used for everyday use, server is hosting file, irc, terraria, utorrent, TOR (once they update the client for Windows), FreeDNS, BOINC.

DJ & Production Software; Traktor 2, Reason 5, Ableton Live Lite 8.

As for other software I have an absolute ton of different applications depending on their function.

Laptop has been great since I installed Win 7 Pro without all the Lenovo software.

Desktop and server are custom built and run like solid rocks. Only small problem I run into on my desktop is the drivers for my M-Audio Audiophile 192 are flaky and because that is my default sound device need to reboot every couple days to reset the device.

Haha, considering the specs it actually ran pretty well. The multitracked 4D mix that I've posted up on here was made on that PC.

It would just take so long to do some things though, like encoding files, zipping/unzipping files, even starting up some programs, so it had to go. :D

Oh gosh, this might take a while.

For DJ / Music:

MacBook Pro mid 2010, 13"

C2D 2.14 GHz, 4 GB of ram DDR3 Dual Chanel (1333 MHz i think?), 500 GB Drive, Nvidia graphics and 2 USB 2.0 ports.

Good: Built like a tank, dropped this off a stage cart, desk, no problems. Decent Battery life ~6hrs.

Bad: Some programs are not Mac compatible?

edit* Nice to see the new look on DJF been a while since ive been on.

OSX: lion

Most major audio programs, word, a few games (starcraft), firefox.

Serato ITCH, Traktor (basic one), VDJ Home, ableton live 8.

Few hang's with ITCH, Crashed on me once due to the ram crapping out.

used since mid 2010

previous: A cheep Acer exstensia (or something like that)

Also have two desktops, both PC based.

Desktop 1: AMD FX 8120, 8GB ram, HD6870 GPU, Gigabyte ga-990fx-ud3, blue ray, 1 TB drive, liquid cooling
Desktop 2: C2D 6750, 4GB ram, HD4870 GPU, EVGA 780i, DVD rom, 1TB raid drives, custom liquid cooling, (mainly used for media storage and backup)

I'm just in the process of building a new PC. Specs so far: -

CASE - Silverstone TJ08-E case (with the main intake fan swapped out for a Phobya 180mm silent fan)
MOBO - Asus Maximus IV Gene-Z Gen 3
CPU - (Not bought yet, but it will probably be an Ivy Bridge 3770K)
COOLER - Noctua NH-D14 2011
RAM - 16 GB of Corsair 1600 MHz DDR3 low profile memory
GPU - NVIDIA 8800 GT with custom cooling (from my old PC - will be upgraded when I have more cash)
SSD - Samsung 830 128 GB SSD
HDD - Hitachi Deskstar 7K3000 2TB SATA3 7400 RPM 64 MB cache (and another in a USB 3.0 case for backups)
PSU - Corsair 620HX modular
ODD - LiteOn iHAS 624B
EXTRAS - Silverstone SST-FP37B USB 3.0 multi-card reader

I haven't decided on a sound card yet.

It should be a considerably more powerful PC than my current one when it's done!

I have pretty much the same laptop (mine has 2 gigs of ram and 320gb of storage) that I use exclusively with Traktor 1.2.x and Mixvibes Cross.

It came with XP and I switched to XP PE then I tweaked it according to the guides found on BlackViper and it's been great

1. What computer/laptop are you using: Brand/Make, Size
I have a custom built 2U rack mount computer. My entire system is self contained

2. Specs: Processor, RAM, HDD/SSD, Video Card, USB ports (2.0/3.0?)
AMD Processor (forget speed), 3Gb Ram, 2x 250GB in Raid 1 and 2x 1TB in Raid 1, Onboard Video, USB 2.0, External Soundcard (DN-HC4500 Controller)

3. Advantages/weakness
My case is fully self contained. I open the top, popup the monitor, open the back, plug in power and speakers, open the front and turn on. Another advantage is that all parts are standard and I can replace anything if I need to. Also, the additional hard drives allows up to 3 drive failures without missing a single beat. The weakness is that it is a bit heavy.

4. OS
Windows Vista

5. Programs installed, games, other softwares (non-DJ/audio)
This is a dedicated DJ computer so I only have DJ Software on it (Virtual DJ)

6. DJ/Audio softwares used
Virtual DJ

7. Any problems experienced/occured (if there are/were)
Power supply went bad on time, but I replaced and all was well. Thankfully, it was not at a gig.

8. How long have you been using it or purchase date?
This rig 2 years (Prior to that, the same rig for 2 years, had to rebuild it because it was stolen)

9. What was our previous computer?
Same thing, it was stolen

10. Why you purchased your current one?
The advantages of everything is self contained and I can fix whatever goes wrong.

11. Your other/secondary computer (if any)
My other computers are a Dell Laptop that controls my lighting (used for audio backup if my main fails for some reason) and then also a Toshiba laptop.

Here is a picture of my setup. The 2U computer is on the bottom under the keyboard drawer. The laptop controls my lighting and doubles as a backup music system.
