Hey there, I'm kind of new to the scene and I'm looking to add a sub to my system. It's mostly used for bedroom and house parties somewhat.

I currently have a Stageline STA-700 amp connected to Wharfedale Xarus 5000 floor standing speakers. I'd like to add a sub to add a bit more bass and would like to know the best option. I have been looking into powered subs but not so much passive. I found one with RCA input and output so does that mean I could connect the audio source to the sub and then the output to my amp?

Or rather a powered sub, would it be better to connect a passive sb to one channel and the two speakers to another?

Thanks for any help guys!

Edit: My budget would be around £150 or near that and I can save a bit more if needed.

my best advise, dont buy anything yet. your budget will only get you the worst of the worst.

+1 on that. Any piece of pro audio equipment should have either XLR or Speakon depending on wether its active or passive. RCA is unbalanced and shouldn't be used as a main input.

Save up more and get a decent sub
