Lighting

I've got my first gig coming up. It's just a small b-day party but I don't have any lights. I have a fog machine that I plan to use but no type of lights. I may be able to borrow a strobe light from someone to use randomly but I don't think the kids will want to dance in just plain dark. Any tips?

Buy a small mirror ball and small spot light should be cheap and will provide some movement.
