I've been searching in DJF for a few pics I saw of guys set up in the back of their trucks to play music in a parade. I had saved this in my bookmarks on my old computer. I got a new computer now (macbook pro of course:-) and now lost those pics :-( Could some one please share a few. Looking for ideas on mounting speakers for the parade.

Thanks!!!

Sadly I do parades every summer but I am terrible at getting pictures of my setup... Basically have a piece of plywood painted black with 8 eye bolts in it that I stack my speakers on at 45 degree angles to the tailgate and then use black bungee cords to hold them down. Have a 4 ft table that fits in the rest of the truck bed and setup on that. I don't mess with lights at all but will use the fog machine occasionally just for some extra notice.

Wow. I'd love to see pix of that kind of setup. Sound like fun to perform.

So this is from 2008, hard to see anything really, generator is behind me in the truck bed and I was only using one pair of 15" speakers and a 15" sub, but for a parade I had all the noise I wanted.

This is not exactly used as a parade setup, but it is pretty much the same thing. In the indian community it is a tradition for the Groom to arrive at the wedding ceremony on a horse and have all of his friends and family dancing around him. so myslef and a few other local djs have started offering our mobile dj services to have them dance. You can also check out DJtanveer on youtube and actually watch some videos of mine. Its called a baraat BTW

Setup includes 2 prx635s (or prx612 for smaller) denon HC4500 and a 6500 watt generator.

That's kinda awesome don't think it would work at a Sikh wedding.

Did a setup about 5 years back with a pair of very old and large house speakers, a receiver and cd player for a local parade. The music was Bhangra. Ended up winning best sound and I wasn't even at the parade.

I got no pics, but in the local parade I got a 53' gooseneck I hook up to my truck and I strap my thumps to the middle of it and subs in the back, booth towards the front. In the bed of a pickup, however, I've gotten away with ratchet strapping my tops to the roof of the truck and mixing from a makeshift booth in the bed, sub near the tailgate. Just be sure to have an ample supply of electricity, i.e. a massive inverter or (my way) generator.

Nice. Its funny that you mentioned sikh weddings. I just booked a sikh wedding in May where we will be providing the mobile DJ setup.
