Ok, i'm here with a pretty noobish question. What is the difference between a bootleg and a mashup? and what is this? (when u just put the vocals on the instrumental's of another song) (not mine btw) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uff2KuVNadw

a bootleg is an unofficial remix of a track, in other words a remix without permission of the producer or performer of the original. a mashup is a combination of two tracks into one.

Just to add on to Era 7, the terms "Mashup" and "Bootleg" are not mutually exclusive.

Some ppl call their mashups, bootlegs. If its an unofficial remix that was created with one song, its considered a bootleg.

Era 7 pretty much summed it up though.
