In need of some help

Current set up

Technics 1200 (recently serviced)

Djm450 (brand new with new cables)

Serato dvs with rane SL3

I'm having problems with recording (going through master 2)
As soon as the bass kicks in, it badly distorts

Have checked, double checked and triple checked the dip switches are in the correct position

All the gains are turned down low ( below the yellow, and not clipping)

But it still distorts, any suggestions?

set your computer/software to line in instead of mic in

I'm using a laptop. The Sl3 box goes in via USB.
Don't seem to have a line in, just headphone socket

is the 450 set to phono input?

also - as Manu said - check the software you are recording with - make sure the input is set to take from a line level source [rather than using the little mics built into your laptop for using Skype etc]

The mixer is set to line out, as per the user manual for the SL3 box.

As I'm using the rane SL3, it connects via USB to scratch live

It probably has something to do with the line in/phono in settings like mentioned. Just try hitting buttons until something works lol

So I've tried everything. Changed the bit depth, the recording
setting (from wav to aiff and vice versa)
Serato themselves have said to update the USB drivers which I have done, but so far not managed to try out.
Other than that, I'm at a loss

Are you recording directly into Serato then?
