Probably the silliest mod ever done, but totally necessary to get rid of the horrific glare of the original shiny surface Numark chose to use on their NS6 platters. It also eliminated all nasty fingerprints from building up, and most importantly covered the ridiculous, fake, childish 45 adapters Numark silkscreened right in the middle of each platter too.

Material: High-grade, matte black, self adhesive vinyl.

Size: 5" diameter.

Application: Fill a small soup bowl with water and add a drop or two of dishwashing liquid to it. Sprinkle water onto platter and adhesive side of vinyl. Position vinyl with adhesive side down on platter and slide until alignment is exactly dead center perfect. Use a credit card to carefully squeegy out water from between vinyl and platter until any and all bubbles are completely removed. Let dry for about 5-10 minutes. Done.

I'll see your silly mod and raise you my silly mod. I went the other way. I love my NS7 and the 45 adapters on it. Recently I bought a VCI-300mk2 and was pissed that it had plain black platters and no 45 adapters. So I dug through my old 7" 45 records and found 2 old 45 adapters and fixed my VCI-300. All you need is a couple of drops of super glue. http://www.pbase.com/image/141346240.jpg

I cut the little red pieces off and left the blue on :P

I think I might have my decal guy cut me out some vinyl record looking decals to put on them with my logo made into it :)

@OP Sorry to hijack the thread but...

@VjQue How exactly is the skin installed on the NS6?

My new anti-bling.

Actually not exactly thrilled with the quality but I will see if it lasts

looks great! I have a buddy with the NS6 and one of the first things I noticed was the 45 adapter logo was a bit annoying to stare at. +1 for a cool mod!

Great job, your mod makes it look way more "pro". Might be time to ditch my s4!

Thanks for sharing. I've been thinking about doing this but was afraid it would hurt the platter sensitivity. How is the performance of the platters with the vinyl on there?

Platter response and performance with vinyl applied has been the same as it was when vinyl wasn't applied.

Local sign shop. Here's the actual brand of vinyl the shop used. http://www.u-p.com/gf_pcf_opa.html
