As of 1/1/2017 there are new rules in place for the music section!

NEW RULE: In each Releases sub-section, new posts require vendor subscriptions. If you are a Label or Promoter and you want to make posts to promote tracks or mixes, you will need a vendor subscription. For more information about vendor subscriptions, please see the FAQ section of DJF:

http://www.djforums.com/forums/faq.php?faq=vb3_board_faq#faq_vendor_faq (http://www.djforums.com/forums/faq.php?faq=vb3_board_faq#faq_vendor_faq)

AFTER reading the rules for Vendors, here's the link to purchase a vendor account:
http://www.djforums.com/forums/payments.php

As a reminder, the Music forums are for music discussion only. They are not for posting member mixes and tracks. For those:

* Mixes go in Mix Submissions
* Tracks go in Track Submissions
* Podcasts go in Internet Radio Broadcasts

All posts that are not in the proper subforum will no longer be moved, they will be removed. Please contact a moderator if your thread has been removed in error.

Why would anyone pay this site is dead. You should allow labels to post for free so people might actually have a reason to come here. Increasing posts per day should be the number one goal.

We are taking any & all ideas to boost/generate active members, member activity etc....

http://www.djforums.com/forums/showthread.php?50235-The-official-ideas-for-DJF-thread

This includes generating revenue... for example but not limited to, new Vendor accounts & VIP for members.

Members can join VIP & support DJF here: http://www.djforums.com/forums/payments.php

All of these things are things that will boost DJF back into a bigger & better site as a whole.... Including generating active membership through our long term plans for the future of DJF over all.

I will not discuss administrative procedures, things we are discussing, future plans, how or why, but.....
KLH & I were given administrative responsibilities to bring DJF back to an active site again. We meet weekly or every other week to discuss & plan DJF's future & how to get it there. This is just part of an over all strategy, not only for the betterment of the site but for its members as well.

We sincerely ask for everyone's support.

Why would anyone support a site that is dead? Also what would you do with more money do buy some Facebook ads? The general section gets 1 to 2 post a day. That's terrible. People are afraid to post and many have just given up on the site. Mods really need to loosen up.

Well it costs money to host a forum and pay for a domain you know.

As far as I am looking at it, I agree to have record labels paying a subscription for the right to use bandwidth on here. It ain't free in the first place, and the asked fee isn't exactly breaking the bank. Keep in mind the site doesn't appear on the internet like magic, it is not free, it is expensive. Besides I do myself and others give an awful lot of time for free. It's that or we can go back to the old rules, you'll get a spam festival forum and everybody will moan again. Post per day numbers are irrelevant if it's just full of 1 post check out my mix made with my new christmas/birthday controller people.

Besides, these labels are ready to pay extra on soundcloud/mixcloud/facebook/etc so why not here. At the end of the day they're only here to promote sales.

soundcloud/mixcloud/facebook have tens of millions of potential listeners and regular monthly users, so the investment is more worthwhile. If I were going to spend an extra $100 a month on advertising, it would be on promoted facebook posts because you want to be in front of as many eyes as possible for your money. I don't see the record label threads as annoying because I literally ignore them when browsing, I might open one up every month by accident or boredom.

Well that's good because a vendor account on here isn't a 100 a month. Besides we're not forcing anybody, and if you ignore them then I don't understand what the fuss is. Maybe you should go ask the labels posting here for some free music, let me know how it goes...

I fully agree with Manu as much as I'd like to see the post count go up, and I'm like you JackStalk only open one up every month by accident.

My routine on here is look at "new posts" tab then open up threads that interest me, if that list gets longer than but mainly made up of other free accounts promoting tracks then I'd lose interest in the site. But if I know they're paying accounts that are contributing to the running of the site and is going to make it grow in time then I'll be more forgiving of them even if I don't open any.

Clearly there is a balance that we're striving for and it revolves around value. For everyone... including members, vendors, and promoters.
