I would say a Pioneer CMX-3000 with a DJM-707 mixer... If you wanted to go all-Pio...
Then theres ones that American Audio makes, Tascam makes some really nice looking ones too

and get a SKB 6-4 stylre rack with the slanted top and a bottom rack too so that you can put the dualie in a safe, protected case. I would get a 19" mixer, even an El Cheapo one, i mean you arent gonna be cuttin with it, so even a crap mixer would get you by. Check into Stantons line of 19" mixers... or maybe even the Tascam X-15 or X-17.

I prefer turntables Tech. 1200s but if you like CD players the Denon S5000 are some very good ones. A friend of mind have a set of them and if I was to go Cd's these are the player i would go with.
There are as closes thing to TT I've ever play on. I love the alpha track feature, you can play two songs off of one cd at the same time.

If you're looking for dual cd players look no further than the denon line of duals - they are the standard you will find in every club. dn-d9000 or dn-d6000 both are amazing units.

I've used a ton of dual decks in my days. American Audio has always been good to me. Geminis have failed, Stantons and Numarks didn't always read the discs. Denon seems to be doing well with their new duals, their older models seemed to have problems though. Seeing that you want to take the mobile route, I'd recommend an American Audio MCD-510. If you want something cheaper without MP3 read ability there's the American Audio DCD-PRO310, which I've used numerous times at mobile gigs.

i think it's all in your budget... if you want to get something just to work with at the moment and test the waters, or something that will last you a while.

Woah! Wait a minute! Yes, the new dnd line from denon may be a "club standard" (aside from the pio cdj mk2's)- but, they are FLAWED! Please be aware that the Denon dnd-6000 and dnd-9000 have frequent cd errors- even after software upgrades. If you have ever had a session with either the 6000 or 9000, you will notice that they dont like certain brands of cd-r's and even original cd's. So, BEWARE- the new line of dnd's DO have cd errors. Please refer to the following thread for more info regarding the cd read errors. http://djforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=46114&highlight=denon+dnd-6000

Ray, i believe you are wrong on the matter that the new (dnd dual decks) are doing well. Like as said before, the dnd- 6000 and dnd-9000 have read errors. The Dn-2100f and dn-2600f and dn-1800f are Much More reliable than the dnd series and the dn series players have no known read errors.

The American Audio mcd810 and mcd510 and dcdpro 610 should be a good middle-range dual deck to choose, though ive never used a new series mcd or dcd deck for prolonged time (due to the fact that there was one at guitar center that didnt work out of the box :uhoh: ) Oh well.

Well, there isnt much to say about this but the fact that most relaible cd decks have these features already on them so there really isnt much you can do. But, since your just getting into it, you might see the need to get more creative and might want to get Hot starts and seamless loops. So, you might as well buy right the first time than to make a mistake and then buy again.

Thats just my opinion. C ya guys later

I owned the DN-D4000 for around 2 years & never had a problem w/ them whatsoever! I have recently upgraded to the new DN-D4500 & so far, so good! These players read every thing thrown @ em! :)

I think the problem w/ the 6000 & 9000 is that they have way more (complex) features, thus the greater the opportunity for errors.

I have used Numark's most basic player cdn 25 (I think) & immediately had problems reading discs...

Never had any problems w/ American Audio entry level players.

I would seriously check out the DN-D4500! Once you use these babies, you don't wanna use anything else! :spin:

go for denons. the numark mix aint that good. the mixer thing is crap. your better off with an external mixer than the cd mix built in mixer.

:stupid: If the mixer or the cd player gos bad the whole unit is no good to you.

Mr G. is correct. The concept is similar to a tv with an integrated dvd player or a washer/dryer combo unit- one breaks the other stops working too.

its not worth getting a numark. Besides, Ebay auctions for them are way too high- usually because beginner djs bid on those too much.

The denons may seem like a hole in your pocket, but trust me, they are worth it.

I suggest you buy a refurbished Denon dn-2600f. I got mine for $675 shipped. But, now you can get one on ebay from usa_world_sales for $575 shipped. good deal.

But, if you just want fast loading hot starts and mp3 capability- go for the dnd4000/4500. They cost around the same as the dn2600f though. C ya
