I've said this about 20 times on this board already, but check out Promo Only. I subscribe to their mainstream and country products and they're better than any of the Now! compilations simply because they're much more current. You get the tracks as they're breaking, not after they're already big. Check out www.promoonly.com for more info. If you're interested in subscribing hit me up with a PM. As far as other compilations go, I'm not sure about country. I haven't looked into any country compilations. I know the Source has "The Source Presents: Hip-Hop Hits" that you can get edited versions of. I've picked up edited ones at Wal-Mart for a decent price new. Hope that helps!

I have quite a few and they have words in them that are not in the radio versions. Offhand I can think of Holiday Inn, where it says stop drop kaboom, rub on your nipples. That word is not in the radio version. It's not really that dirty of a word but I would be careful about playing them in mixed company until I had listened to them.

Nope, that's simply not true. They do try to force labels into cleaning up their albums for sale at Walmart, but it is possible to buy albums there that aren't edited. I've picked up several there that weren't edited at all.

If you're doing the download thing, I-Tunes is pretty good about having edited and unedited versions of tracks.

For the ones I can't find clean, I do some editing in my studio. I now know what almost every four-letter word sounds like backwards.

In the old days, we had to listen to songs backward just to hear the bad stuff.

Poor man's way to keep up: check the billboard charts weekly, see who's staying on the charts.
