Pioneer CDJ 850 sharing with a CDJ 900?

I watched a video of a guy doing a comparison of the cdj 850 and 900. At one point he said something about the 850 not being able to share music with the 900 for some reason. Is that true? Do I need to buy another 900 so that I can use one external drive for both decks or does the 850 have the ability to share music off of a hard drive plugged into the 900 and/or vice versa? Also, the guy in the video was also having trouble getting the 850 to get into "wide" on the pitch selection section. Is that a problem?

I know there are a few differences between these two decks but if I can get away with saving a few hundred dollars Id be happy. Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks.
