Im looking for my first dynamic recording microphone. I plan to be recording vocal tracks for different types of EDM, electro, dnb, AND non electronic music too. Im looking for the best possible quality mic I can get for under $300. Any suggestions?

You might want to look into a Shure SM7 for your price range. Used possibly, because new I think they're like 350 usually

I'm by no means an expert, but I've been researching mics to get, and the SM7 seems to be what the Sm57 is for it's price range; a general all-around workhorse that works extremely well. Obviously you need good converters/audio interface to get the most out of it, and it's low output, which means you'll need a bit more gain to get volume from it, so a crappy interface might add noise. But at/around your price range, this could be a good option. I heard they used it for MJ's Thriller album.

What kind of interface do you have?

The SM7B is a very good dynamic mic. That said it is also a gain hog. You need 60 dB AT LEAST to get the best out of it.

You also need a strong vocalist. It's awesome but not particularly forgiving.

Why do you want a dynamic? I'd seriously consider a budget condenser instead for general vocals. Audio Technica makes several in the range that are decent for the price.

You want a condenser mic for recording vocals. + 1 on audio technica, good value for money.
