Super sweet no doubt. What's with the red bull drip mat though? Did they kick in for it?

it's just supposed to prevent stains (cause I like to have a drink or two when mixing)

yikes, a spill could wipe out that mixer since its flush with the table. be careful! other than that sick table!!

Ahhhh, right on man. I think if it were me I'd be pretty strict about no drinks on the table though.

Where did you source the push start button from? Was it costly?

Nice table. Any way you can write up a tutorial on how you made it?

Nice table. Any way you can write up a tutorial on how you made it?

The table was done by a professional manufacturer. They used cnc water jet cutted 5mm aluminum sheets, welded and then powder coated them. The engine start button activates a relay, switching on and off the power source. Again it was done by a professional.

You can find the start button on ebay or amazon. It was quite cheap (20-30$ I think)

I asked my cousin who is an electrician to figure it out. I just know that he has used a relay. I will ask him to give me more details

It's a simple pick & stick circuit. Give me a few minutes and I'll draw up a circuit diagram

Ok here it is. For those who are well acquainted with circuit diagrams, I apologise for the symbols. I've used the symbols that are standard in my industry, but we do things differently to everyone else.

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t63/davetherave_11/ONOFFBUTTON.png

I imagined you could cut the lead in half on a four or six gang extension lead, then insert the circuit in the middle. That's probably how I'd do it.
The Off button is a sprung loaded push to break.
The On button is a sprung loaded push to make.
The relay is 110V or 240V, depending on your region. The contacts are all Normally Open (N/O).
The buttons have to be rated for at least 110V / 240V and at least the current draw of the relay coil.
The relay contacts obviously have to be rated for the maximum current draw. That's pretty small for decks and a mixer, but an amp or powered monitors will be significantly more.
I've double cut the circuit (cut live and neutral) but it's only necessary to cut the Live.

It goes without saying that this should only be attempted by someone who knows what they're doing with electricity. I take no responsibility yadda yadda yadda...

Hope this helps :)
