Unfortunately this is not the first time I've seen the inside of a DN-S1200... Took mine apart when it busted. Never got it fixed... out of warranty.

Just a word of caution, not sure how much electronics experience you have, might want to get a volt/ohm/amp meter and find out the resistance of the existing LED's. That way you can match your replacements since leds can have different resistance values

I would say, if Denon has a quality problem, it would be the rubber buttons. Just seems to be a trend that half the problems I see are there. Fortunately they seem to have replacement parts which is rare the further down the food chain one goes.

Fortunately, the new set of Denon Players will have plastic cue and play buttons!

LEDs do not have a resistance. What they do have is a forward-biased volt drop (Vf) and a maximum forward-biased current (If). Vf can be checked by connecting the LED is series with a known resistance and a battery and measuring the volt drop. There's no (non-destructive) way of checking If, but typically it will be 20 to 30mA. This is all academic though because it's very likely that just about any normal LED will work.
