So I was attempting to calibrate the two zero points on one of my turntables, messed up and popped the potentiometer. I don't remember exactly how I did it, other then turning it too much. It's in 2 or 3 pieces and just looks like it has come apart. Is it possible to fix or should I just order a new PCB board?

I had actually thought I would just replace the whole unit -- as they were used tables and showed some wear. I figured the fader could use to be replaced so I went ahead and ordered one. But... it didn't come with the PCB as I didn't pay attention enough to make sure that was actually what I needed.

So -- is it fixable with the current pcb board? (I can still use the whole fader assembly, basically the only problem is that my zero point is around +1) Where can I order a new PCB board? Having difficulty finding them online. Figured I'd ask here as many seem to work on technics and can hopefully help me out.

Thanks in advance!

Are you talking about the zero adjust pot VR302? That should be easy enough to replace as it's a standard component. We just need to find what value it is...

VR302 is a linear 50K trim pot.

It's the pot that you can modify through the hole on pcb board, if you were say recalibrating the quartz lock zero point (two zero point issue).

I'll check what part numbers are listed on it when I get home. I didn't even think about just ordering and replacing the pot. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Thanks for the info Mr Penguin. In the UK you can buy one for the princely sum of 59 pence

Much thanks for the help so far. I need this pot in the USA unfortunately... and am having difficulty finding the same pot elsewhere. Likely because I don't know exactly what to call it or search for.

Would this be it?

Have you tried radio shack?

Have you tried radio shack?

Edit...

Found it... just ended up using the technics service manual and finding the part number. Now to wait and replace.

Thanks
