I might be behind the times but laser to me is a visual thing so I don't understand how that identifies a track.

There isn't much to go on here. Where did you first hear the track you are trying to find? Where, when, how etc....Go from there and discogs.com can be a big help but it can take some time and patience.

hello,
i heard it when i was a youth in late 80s, since then it was sometimes used for space docus, here and there but I never had a chance to find out the artist or title. all i can say it kind of kraftwerk sounding early techno/house/electro/pop with alot of this sample used across the beats..
de ja vue is the name of the track or do you mean "another question that favors a previuos one"?

I might be behind the times but laser to me is a visual thing.
for example if you watch 80s cartoons or even star wars/track/etc when they shoot laser the sounds they use are very like the one i posted, so its like laser shots or something.. probably a hollywood thing.

Hi topdj, nope I only mentioned de ja vue because it seemed there was already a post about this but that isn't helping so just ignore me :D

The link you have given doesn't work for me but I think I know what you mean now and it can be recreated with a synth by finding a similar sound and altering it with the graphic equalizer such as the attack to shorten the note. Can you post a youtube link of the sample?

I cant help with the late 80's stuff but I can put you on a late 70's song. Try this Steve Miller song - Jungle Love. Thats was what first came to my mind when I went to the link & listened to the clip you posted.

They also have another call Jet Airliner that has a little lazer sound effect behind some other music. Try this.

yes this laser is pretty solid (first vid). thanks!

still looking for the mysterious techno hit from late 80s...
all I can recall is a simple melancholic but futuristic melody, a techno beat and the lasers. the video clip was showing stars, planets and visual lasers, probably some moon shots and the landing or "space walk" and maybe a green color grid too, and all this science stuff that I forget to mention..

Well, the description of the song isn't much to go by, but your description of the video sounds like MARRS - Pump Up The Volume, although there's not much laser sounds in there:

the video is very similar indeed and the sound too but the track I am looking for is bit faster - if this ones bpm was like 90 the song I look is around 100 then and the laser sound is coming like every 10 seconds, and a melancholic melody. pump up was sounding too "party" the one I look has a similar touch but more "spacy/sad/melancholic" but samway futuristic...

Bingo!
you are my hero!! :lol::love:
I was quiet right with 88/89
...after listening I must say its not the track but I need only the laser part on intro so its ok, but I am sure there was another song with same intro but lil bit more pop and sad
