QSC KW152 vs. JBL PRX715

I'm in the market for some new 15" tops and have narrowed it to these 2. I do mobile stuff and like the ability to use 15"s without a sub for some smaller venues and the ability to have them play larger crowds with subs. I play mostly dance music.

Just wondering what you guys who have had experience with both think. I have used the 152's several times and love them, but I can get the JBLs for 25% less and they are lighter and rated with more watts.

Watts is not a measure of speaker output so don't let that marketing number unjustly influence you.. look at the long term SPL the box can generate instead. In this case you have 2 very good boxes each with pros and cons so weigh all of them and buy the one that better meet your needs.. odds are you would end up happy with either.

Having a set of both, they are very similar. The biggest differences are weight and warranty length - choose based on what's more important to you.

+1. A light bulb is "60W" but it doesn't make much sound.

Based off my comparison, the JBL PRX715 has more pronounced mid range than KW152 making the vocals seem more open.

Well I would take the QSC and for my second option I would SERIOUSLY be considering EV but sounds like you have it covered. Enjoy the Doof Doof!
