analog sucks, operator rules.
when you open operator, by default, its goes from bottom to top by operators.
So, say operator A(the bottom one) is a sine wave, then, say, you goto B and put in a saw wave. Now, when you turn up the volume on B it will modulate A more. And in addition, the knob thats labled .5, 1, 2, 3, 4, etc is the multiplier. So, .5 would lower the operator by an octave, and 2 would double it.
So basically, they are being modulated by the operator after it and the volume is what changes the modulation wet/dry.
FM synths are really easy to figure out once you realize how they work.
And you can use just operator A as a type of subtractive synth instead of using Analog and the filters are much better and you have many more waveforms. Although, only one LFO instead of two in analog. But you get more ASDR envelopes. Basically just use operator, skip analog and go straight to massive or sylenth.

It gets even wackier when you use different routings with Operator.
